Having trouble with the Firepod. I seem to sometimes get a low frequency hum when recording various ways. Lately i've noticed it in a condenser mic and also on DI acoustic while tracking scratches. A sample of this problem can be heard here:

(removed because i've figured out the problem with this clip)

You can hear that the tone of the drone follows the note that is being sung.

Am I doing something wrong that is causing this?

I dont know what a firepod it - and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Do you plug it into a wall jack?

Hmm...doesn't sound like electrical hum. More like a sympathetic resonance. Are there any drums in the room or other things that could resonate? What mic? It doesn't make sense that a sound like that would appear on a vocal and a DI track, though.

Sounds like room ambience to me....What size room, and in what conditions are you tracking in?

turns out the vocal clip i had posted was due to the overuse of a plugin. I believe i may have overcompressed or something. this was tracked a long time ago before I figured out at least kinda of what i was doing.

as far as the acoustic DI problem...tried a different acoustic going straigt into the firepod and no problem...looks like my pickup the one acoustic is a tad more sensitive
