Nice little diddy. I've got nothing constructive to add, just that I enjoyed the listen.

I pretty much have to echo this. Nice little ditty, nice singing. I was a bit dismayed to read you weren't actually out on the range with smores on the spit over the open fire during the recording, but I tried to forget about that.

For whatever reason, I got an image in my head of the guy playing guitar and singing in "Cool Hand Luke", which I probably haven't seen in 8 years or more. Maybe your voice reminds me of him or something? Probably nothing. Anyway, nice song.

If it's any consolation, just outside the windows of that room there were palms with cobras in them. We had a toad who lived in the kitchen and every evening he'd hop out and down the steps to go feed. After a while he didn't come back. I think the cobras got him. Cats would disappear forever sometimes. Pythons. There was a bat who flew in the window sometimes and he'd hang upside down from the bookshelf. Had a face like a little kangaroo.

But no smores, no.

Thanks. I don't care if it rains or freezes, long as I got my plastic jesus sittin' on the dashboard of my car...

Not him, the other guy that plays and sings when they are making Luke dig. I'll look up his name.

Harry Dean Stanton! Christ, that guy was in everything.

In fact, I did! I went into that one thinking there's no way Emilio Estevez is going to top "Maximum Overdrive", but I'll be damned if he didn't! :)

I was a toddler in the early 80s, but I rented it on VHS sometime in my teens. It is definitely a classic. Now I'll probably end up buying the DVD next time I'm on amazon. Even though I haven't watched a DVD in years, that's one I'd actually bother getting off the couch for to put in the machine.

I haven't read any other responses yet. I've quit doing that until after I make my comments.
I think the guitar sounds really good. Is it nylon string...sounds like it. The vocal is well recorded but it is pitchy in spots( Mostly the high note..."to" in the very first line of the song). The part when you're singing low it sounds like you're struggling to hit the notes. I think it's a hair out of you're range...maybe you should go half a step up and try it.
Overall beautiful song and really nice recording and mix.

You're right about the nylon-string and the pitchiness and the range issue. I dragged this one out of the vault - I haven't played it for years - I'll have to learn it from the recording. But the half step up idea is worth exploring. Thanks for the ears and the ideas.
