Lost outputs in CubaseLE/Firepod/XP

This is a strange problem that I don't have a lot of information for. I recorded last night using my firepod, monitored using OUT1/2 and headphones. Turned my computer off, woke up this morning and there's no sound. I did some looking and there's actually no OUT1/2. VST outputs panel shows outs for 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 and 7/8. Yes, that's right, outputs 7/8 are listed twice in the pulldown and 1/2 are missing.

The Firepod's outputs are enabled and everything was working yesterday. Does anyone have any ideas why an output pair would suddenly disappear, and another become dual listed in the dropdowns of the VST outputs window.

I don't know if these are problems with the LE version, but it seems that very frequently I will close down for the night, start up the next day and something will be broken. Is this the case with SE/SL/SX?

Cheers,
-John

Thats strange! that has never happened to me, I had Cubase SE and now I have Cubase SL3. If I were you I would reload the program....

Well, taking Carter's advice I removed the software and reloaded it. Now it works as expected. That's quite frustrating having the software suddenly break for unexplained reasons. I was considering upgrading to SE, but am now somewhat concerned about the program's stability.

Thanks Carter, for the suggestion.

Cheers,
-JW

Well Cubase SE and Cubase SL3 has been very stable for me even when my track count gets over 20 with 2 or 3 plugs per channel. SE is only $100.00 its worth a try! :)
