loss of sound quality when burning CD and streaming on website

HI- I am using Cubase for the first time and find I can record a really good sound with midi/sampled instruments. Excellent in fact. But I want to burn it to CD, and put a one-minute sample on my website. I first saved it in .wma format, then put on website. There was a really big fall in sound quality! So then I saved in .wav format, but find out that this means it cannot be streamed on the website, which will put off a lot of people, having to wait to hear it. So...

how can I burn it to CD so that it plays on an ordinary, domestic CD player withouth loss of quality of sound?

And how can a sample be played over the website without the loss of quality? Or is it inevitable that it has be saved as a .wma file in order for it to be streamed?

You can hear my first attempt on my website below- click on to hear sample of a Christmas Carol. It sounds so much better when not streamed or in .wav format!!!

Thanks
David
