hi, my name is dustin, and i have a Pro Audio 9 problem. Is it my system's fault that if i have a really long (71 mins) wav file, i lose some of the waves in the audio view. instead of showing the left-right like it normally does, it just shows a line through the center. any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS. the audio itself is NOT affected.

Thanks

hey dustin

i thought you used homestudio or sonar.... i thought i read that. i can't help with your problem but i can suggest upgrading to homestudio at least. if you are super strapped for cash then its understandable... but it really is worth the 60 bucks or whatever it is.... so many headaches can be avoilded....

go sell your blood or your seamen or something.. anything to get a little extra $$$ :)

It just takes a while for your computer to redraw all the waveforms in a 71 minute file.

but it never does. instead of showing me the static image in the middle when it's loading, it just shows a straight line across the middle and it doesn't change.

I'm guessing that you probably have your picture cache set too small.

Go into your aud.ini file and find the line that says PicCache=XX Mb. The default is 20 Mb I believe. I don't know how high you need to set it to accommodate a 71 minute file. If you have a lot of available disk space, try setting it to 200 or 250 to start.
