Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone could help me with this issue,
basically im having serious difficulties looping/repeating or duplicating audio regions - if i cut say a 1 bar loop from a take or whatever and then try and loop it/repeat or duplicate it, by 10 or so loops/repititions down the regions start to fall off the grid...ie regions are starting and ending maybe a few samples ahead of the start of the bar, as if the original loop was longer than it should have been.. My grid was set to 1 bar when the loop was taken and still set to 1 bar when i tried to loop it...
This seems to be happening whatever session i open, so its not a corrupt session or anything..

Any suggestions would be much appreciated,
Thanks!

If you zoom in close up on the region you will see that it does not have perfect loop points at the grid lines. Re-align them before you duplicate.

Thanks for the reply bro,
i made sure the regions were exactly 2 bars...which protools will do if you have the grid set right,

Then everytime i duplicate however many of the same region the first few will be ok but after a few i start to get this:

its a real pain ,i've got 4 days worth of recording to edit and i cant really make a start if this function isnt working right!!
I thought it may be a glitch in PT8 but ive upodated to 8.0.1 to no avail...

And you're sure you don't have any tempo or meter changes sitting out there?

from the manual:
When using Duplicate (or Repeat) for audio that
must fall cleanly on the beat (such as rhythmic
loops), it is important that you select the audio
material with the Selector tool, or by typing in
the start and end points in the Event Edit area. If
you select an audio region with the Time Grabber
tool (or by double-clicking it with the Selector
tool), the material may drift by several ticks
because of sample-rounding.

You're only showing us the close up of the region's end point (the part that snaps to the grid). What about the grid line where the region begins close up?

Basically, loop is independant of the grid value.

You could also just alt-drag the region (while in grid mode) across to where you want it to repeat. But you might get some clicks and pops.
