Looking into buying a new effects processor.

Ive actually played that toneworks ax1g pedal before, but I only played it with an acoustic/electric(my friend owned both). The distortions sounded like crap with an acoustic, but thats to be expected. There were some usable chorus/delay/flanger effetcs. The 'loop' is hard coded time based, so you cant punch in/out, which I found dissapointing. The "expression" pedal has very little range of motion to it, so I didnt get nearly as much flexibility as I wanted out of the wah/volume/tone effects. The wah was digital sounding too, which I didnt like. The bypass was hard to access as well, much harder than your average boss effects, and even harder that the zoom pedals(although the same concept of pressing the 2 buttons at once) All in all, I wouldnt buy this pedal myself. I dont have any other suggestions though as I use all single effetcs chained together. For more/diff opinions on this, check out harmony central user reviews. http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Data/Korg/AX1G_Guitar_Multieffects-01.html
Hope this helps,
Todd

always play before you buy -OR- check the return policy and be ready to ship the thing right back if you dont like it.

Try a J-Station,only $150 and it had good sounds plaus a great effects section plus 24 bit S/PDIF output to the P.C.

See if you can find a 2nd handed Boss GT-3. It has the most in-dept editability and after some tweaking you get a lot of buck for the bang ;)
Hmm, and the newer Zoom GFX-4 looks pretty nice.

YMMV.

I second the vote for the J-Station.

Yep, I would definatley go for the J-station as it is 1) cheap 2)bloody amazing and 3)got all the features you could ever want.

But then again everyone has there own preferences, and it is for this reason that i think you should go and try out as many different effects systems with your own guitar in your nearest guitar shop. It's the only way.

regards and good luck finding one.

Here's a clip of my band with the j-station on clean and distortion guitars.

Do you need an amp modeler or just effects?

If you just need effects, the TC Electronics G-Major is one of the best.
I'll bet the TC Electronics G-Force IS the best.. ;)

IMO, if you want really cool and good fx AND a pre-amp simulation in one, go try out a Boss GT-6. I have a GT-3, like it, but it has some flaws. I played on the GT-6 once, and was very impressed. The Line6 may have useful/better pre-amp sims, but their fx are lacking it... soundwise, and edit-possibility wise.
