hi, guys:

I have been look thru my Roland XP30 trying to find this sound, but couldn't quite match it. It's a popular keyboard sound from the 70's (I think). Here is a very short MP3 of it

called "Synth"

Please tell me what that instrument is called or what filters to apply to what patch to get that sound. Thanks alot

AL

That's Pink Floyd (from DSOTM???) -- they used a VCS3 synth on that album, according to the credits........

actually, Bruce, it was from Wish you were here. But, they use that sound alot in all their albums. I was wondering if I could get that sound from my XP30. Like what filters and so on.

Thanks

Sounds like an organ, probably a Wurlitzer and not a B3 on that one but a I could be wrong, going through a leslie. Pretty basic. I was expecting some big LFO analog sweeps or something ;)

I agree with Tex. It definitely sounds like it's going through a leslie which is a cabinet with a spinning speaker which is why you're having trouble matching it. It was a great sound from the 60's for me.

AH, I see. That is a real great sound. I will try to hook up my keyboard into POD or something and see if I can come close.

ps. what's B3??

Thanks you all very much.
