I use my home-recorded backup loops to jam guitar to in real-time, and would like the abaility to fade-out the backup while playing. Seems like routing the monitors through a single (stereo) pedal would allow that.

I've seen some stereo pedals around, but can't tell whether they would be suitable for running monitors through. Most product descriptions specifically refer to keyboards, guitar stompboxes, etc. I would need something spec'd to handle the monitors.

Thanks for any help.

I think that'd work just fine. Never tried it but I dont see why it wouldnt work. Basically, all a volume pedal is is a passive potentiometer that goes from off to full volume. Any line level signal should be affected the same way, just make sure you're controlling the signal before it goes to the monitor amp.
