Ok, so I'm new to the site, but I'm not too new to audio production. I'm actually self producing my bands first album, as well as the demos for the album (it's actually just me in a one-man band, so, nobody else'd produce it...) Anyway, I'm currently towards the end of my pre-production phase, having 9 songs completely written out of 10, so I thought, since this is the most recent track I mixed, why not get some feedback. I'm trying to use this pre-production phase to experiment and see what sounds good, and what doesn't. Therefore, all of the demos have actually been produced like I'm trying to produce the actual album. Well, except this last one and another one I'm still working on. Also, none of the tracks really go together that well sonically, since they were written, performed, and produced over the span of the past 4 months, with the earliest ones being the worst sounding, and one I'd finished up recently being the most, well, overproduced, for a demo anyway (had to render my drums to a stem, then had to render all the other instruments to another stem temporarily just to record the guitar parts.)

So, I'm attaching the MP3 in the post. Please, tell me what you all think about it; don't spare any criticism. I probably won't respond to much about the composition or the song itself, I'm really just looking for feedback on the production work. View attachment mastered elevensies demo.mp3

I'll try to keep it to production and mixing. There are points where the guitars don't sound tight, so you might want to redo them to make them sound tighter. Also the guitars themselves sound weak. It might be an eq problem, but I would guess it's too much gain. The rhythm guitars are also getting lost when the lead comes in. I'd work more on the panning and eq than just dropping the volume when the lead comes in. Also make sure the guitar bends are in tune.

Ok, thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Although, when you say that they get lost when the lead comes in, do you mean both guitars? Because I only recorded two guitar tracks, and the left channel plays both rhythm and lead. Although if both guitars do end up getting lost, I'll work on that. And for the tightness, this is just a really rough play-through of the song, I'm currently going over it as well as my other songs, especially since I'm starting tracking in January. But, thanks for the criticism!
