Great to hear something new from you two. Good tune and arrangement.
But I'm gonna be super critical...because I like your stuff, and know you are pros so can make something useful of it.
It would be perfect if you could -- somehow -- make it less "whiney". Especially the first verse, where you haven't heard the more upbeat chorus yet.
Whether that means just smiling as you sing it, or using a slightly different vocal arrangement. God knows, My songs sound too whiney for me too, so I need to get that sorted also.
I think I like your stuff cause aspects of it sound a little bit like my old kiwi favourites Chris Knox/Tall Dwarfs, so it might be worth you checking him/them out to see what I mean.
