i am looking to put some simple drum tracks and occasional technoish stuff sound effects behind home recorded tracks, i have downloaded acid pro and a few others but i do not have hours upon hours to master the programs. does anyone know of a relativley (im not a comlete idiot) program that i could do this with. i have a delta 1010lt soundcard and running xp if you need to know.

How did you acquire acid pro? Just curious. :D

I'm sure there are free tools out there. A good place to start is Google. Also, if you're looking for acoustic drums, you might check out nskit. Type that into Google and see what you get.

Everything that I have wasn't cheap so I hesitate to suggest it. But...I will anyway...

BFD
Kontakt 2

Those are probably more complex than you would care for, though.

That's in his post. He, uh, 'downloaded' it, but apparently didn't get a manual with it...

Based on your writing skills, spelling and the fact that it seems you may have pirated software, you are not coming off as a rocket scientist.

i just love when people are so damn helpful.

DAVIDK-----Did I spell all that right? Is my punctuation and grammar correct? I didn't realize when I posted, I was being grading on my knowledge of the english grammatical system. Keep your comments to yourself man, no one likes an internet smart ass.

*WE* don't like pirates here.

I payed the full $60 for pcdrummer pro and I love it. No need to pirate...

i realize that pirates are not welcome here, i evaluated the acid pro program and do not like it, i uninstalled it and now i am looking for another program to evaluate. if it fits my needs i will purchase it. way too many people on these boards making assumptions and accusing people of stuff. i guess no one evaluates programs around here. i'm not going to spend $300-$500 to find out that i do not like a program.

If evaluate means steal/unsteal, most people around here buy there own.

If you are spending 300-500 bucks, certainly you are not foolish enough to buy something that you know nothing about.

Fruity loops is pretty spiffy, especially for techno.

I think you are outta luck my friend. Most of this shit is very complicated, which is why this forum exists.

You did fairly well until grading :D :D

Look my friend, there are a lot of VST drums for free, a zillion drum products to buy. VesuviusJ gave you an example and you didnt even acknowledge it. What are you expecting, someone to come to your house and play drums for you?

Anyhoo, try fruity loops if you are up for it. Not easy, but its worth the investment.

PS, PC drummer is pretty fun

There are TONS of good drum programming apps out there. Fruity Loops is VERY easy, and has some pretty good sounds.

Scroll down for a list of drum software. Free ones too. I like PCDrummer as well.

Also check out Steinberg's Groove Agent. I LOVE this one.

No demo that I know of, but trust me when I tell you it is well worth the price.

I generally use softsynth drums nowadays if I can't get a real drummer. I like using sfz with SONAR and using the "Drums Douglas Natural Studio Kit" soundfont from Hammersounds.
