Looking for opinions on the focusrit platinum pre

I am looking at the voicemaster as a single channel pre for my new protools HD system. I have about $500 to $1000 budgeted for a vocal pre amp and am also looking for other suggestions.

As long as you have that much money in your "budget" for a mic preamp, be sure to check out Martinsound.com. They make two models and the less expensive model is in your budget range, the other model not far from it.

This is one preamp that doesn't get much chatter on this site because hardly anyone has one.

High quality. I've never used one but have read a great deal about the product.
