Hey guys, looking for some help with the mix. All comments welcome im more than open to retracking or anything you have to suggest. I know the drums come off weak but all i got is samples (which is no excuse, ive heard plenty of nice drum tracks using samples on here) but i do my best to try and make them not annoying.

Songs called "5 Dollar High" contains some explicit lanaguage and what not to anyone sensitive to that sort of thing.

Great sound.. The mix ain't bad. Like you mentioned the drums are a bit mechanical but not really that bad.

Now the vocals... DANG that has to hurt...

Good sound!

Cool...creative approach to hiding drum loops.

The intonation on the guitar sounds slightly out...I could be wrong. I am not hearing the bass sound very clearly, it pokes it's head up now and then but it's not very consistent. I see what you are going for with the vocal treatment but I think you may have taken it a bit too far.
When he goes falsettoish it sounds shitty, his voice is not making the transition very appealing to listen to.

Not a big fan of the song, the zombie vibe aint my thing I guess.

Great song. It's got an early emo sound, very Love and Rockets. I agree with Jake that the singer needs to work on the voice transition. IMHO, he could just stay down low in register and not try to get all squirrely - it dosen't need it.

Speaking of which, the guitar solo just dosen't belong. It dosen't take the listener anywhere, just meanders along. Layer up some feedback or eBOW or something ambient. The song vehicle works as it is and dosen't need much window dressing.

one of the better mixes i've heard on here in a while

Thanks for the comments guys.

Supercreep - Thanks for the comments, i kinda like the idea of the ebow or something of that nature. Ill have to experiment a little with something like that.

Jake - I actually thought the same thing with the guitars, i didn't think it was noticeable enough to do anything about. And for the comments on the vocals i can see where you're coming from, i kind of like them but i can understand you're point of view for sure. Thanks for the comments though, real helpful.

Scott and Giraffte - thank you very much and thanks for posting

take care
