Looking for inexpensive mic pre, USB or Firewire is must

A good friend of mine's son is starting to rap and he needs something very low cost so he can record his voice. I found these, how is the cost to quality ratio on these units? Anything cheaper? Anything a little better quality?

Right now I'm looking at:

This one looks really good, and doesn't look cheap.
