I recently purchased 4 Tascam DA-88's. I am looking to get an A/D interface to take those tracks to my computer. What models are there and what would you suggest. Also, what multi-tracking, mastering software would you suggest? I have only been in the world of live sound and really want to get into studio recording. I am at the mercy of all you people who are filled with the great advice that I am seeking. Let me know what you think should be my next move. I really appreciate it!

Get a used Tascam DM-24 ($1000.00 on Ebay) and the firewire card for it ($350.00) and that will give you 24 channels of I/O at one time and 60 channels for mixdown. Read this and you'll be sold -

You also get easy use of the effects on the Tascam and routing with outboard effects. I'm about to purchase Cubase which I've heard is the best interface for the Tascam.
