I dunno, The mix sounds alright on both...but my girlfriend made me turn it off so I didn't hear the whole songs.

Pretty hard hitting glam type hair rock.

On the song high I'd save the warbly guitar until a little later, In mp3 at least it sorta smears the bass.

Hmm well I dont claim to be anybody's "better" (not out loud anyway)-hell, this sounds a ton better than my mixes(boy band)-the only thing that bothered me was the snare-it sounded kinda weak-like he was just tapping it or something-but the voice sat well-guitars sounded good and were well seperated-sounded real good man-

The vocals sound good. The drums have something weird happening in the stereo field- especially on the right side (I'm listening with headphones). I think it's the toms.

Otherwise, ummmmmm----should I say it? should I? uhhhhhh..... no, I won't.

I listened to both tunes, and the first thing that hit me was you should dump whatever mp3 encoder your using.. It is hurting the sound..

'high' is a good tune! reminds me a bit of the singer from Bad Company, mixed with some King's X. ;)

It's hard to judge the mix because of the bad conversion, but it sounds like the drums could use some life.. either e.q. or reverb, not sure.. nice bass sound.. nice guitar sound.. good vocals.. I'm battling a cold, so I can't be of much help..

I can say I liked the tune though..

the first tune I'll have to listen to again before I make any comments.. it was humorous though..

"high" was a serious tune to me.. I liked it a lot..

i listened to 'high'..............the drums are pretty muffled right now....either go with Sabbath's suggestion of a new mp3 converter, or you need to do some serious eq work on them, i'm not sure ...........other than that....it sounds good....the vocals are great for the genre, guitars sound good.........

first of all....thanks

for checking the stuff out.....

It's amazing how when someone points certain things out, all the sudden you can hear what you hadn't noticed before....then it just bothers the hell out of you!

I'm going to go back and see what I can do about bringing the drums a little more clarity....if anyone has any tips on getting them brighter, please fill me in! My poor drummer always gets the shaft!!!!! lol

"should I say it? should I? uhhhhhh..... no, I won't."
ah....go ahead....I'm here for feedback, after all!!!! lol

As far as mp3 encoder, I'm using the Roxio Easy CD creator's encoder....I don't have internet access at the studio, so I burn waves there, take them home and mp3 them through that program...I'm, again, open for suggestions of good encoders!!!

B.Sab....good to see you again.....I only come in and poke my head in every month or so, but I remember talking with you a few months back!

Good solid rock tunes, but as mentioned, those drums are'nt living up to the song. Needs a lot more power to represent the power of the song. They almost sound artificial. Need a good punchy Bass kick and punchy snare. Put a little more metal sound into that guitar as well and you will have some radio ready tunes.

im listening to "boyband"....great title btw.......cool you got zakke wilde in yer band...;) ....pretty good mix to me....pretty funny? lyrics....i like smart ass ......"britney scream like a whore"....THAT was funny.......i like the panning at 1:50..er so........nice solo too...does ozzy know this guy is playing with you on the side.???........pretty decent tune here...dooood....

thanks

jamal

p.s......that ending "right stuff"....really nice touch!!!

I liked High,good tune!
Great guitar playing.

The only thing that stood out was the snare, too repeditive.

Vocals were good, but sounded better with the delay at 1:42,really brought them out.
IMHOP!:)

Good stuff,
Pete

wow...thanks some more!

What would you guys recommend to give the drums more powerful in the mix without just raising the volume? EQ? Compress?

Thanks again for taking the time to check it out...I really appeciate it...just learning as I go!

And as far as Zakk...thanks for the compliment....he's been one of my heroes for a few years, but I didn't realize it came through THAT obvious!!

Wish I had hair to swoosh around...

Nice hair-band gymnastics! I got a beef with the drums, though, specifically the left hand. He's playing with WAYYY too much articulation for a piece like this. Invert that stick and beat that dog with the butt end, man! You've got raucous content and a veddy British, proper snare. HAMMUH DAT MONSTAH!!!!

The guitars crunch along merrily and keep the energy high, and the bass throbs inexorably, but this song would really move to the next lexel if that snare just smashed the door down. It's almost orchestral in it's uprightness. The drummer has really sweet chops though!
