Looking for entry-level microphone

I have read most of the stickies, but I didn't find much suiting my situation. This is the closest I found, although it was posted ten years ago, so I'm not sure whether it still applies:
What's the best mic for larger instruments? Unless you own a very well designed large diaphragm condenser mic, usually a small diaphragm will work better (unless it's a very quiet source and you're willing to give up some accuracy for extra low noise output).

I am currently looking for an entry-level microphone to record classical and acoustic guitar, with emphasis on classical. As time passes, I might widen the range of instruments to something like drums, violin and maybe vocals. This is however quite far ahead into future. For now, my main focus is the guitar.

I am willing to spend up to $250-ish, but if there are very good quality microphones way under that, I might very well go with either of them. I have been looking at Studio Projects B3, which I initially found through the FAQ, and after some audio demonstrations on YouTube, I think it does very well. I've also seen that Samson C01U has had a lot of positive feedback.

Thoughts? Recommendations? Anything is appreciated.

Yup, I did, but I'm not necessarily looking for microphones under $100, like I said in the original post. I was especially wondering whether either of the two microphones I brought up were good for my particular situation.

Or a second hand Rode NT1000. Just to add, if you can pick up an AKG C4000B at the right price, it's my favourite acoustic guitar mic.

Alan.

I'd actually recommend an SP B1 over a B3 for acoustic guitar. What kind of preamp do you have? For $199 you can pick up a Rane MS-1S, or a used MS-1B for around $100. That's a really nice chain for what you're doing.
