dont want to spend a fortune for first set. heard some really cool acoustic guitar recorded this way. sounded better than surround sound.. ready to get a little "out of the box" on some projects . myspace.com/589037585

dummy head or earbud mics?
Am not following you here.

Binaural recording is probably not the best idea for acoustic guitar. Although the idea that we make a recording like our ears hear it is a good one.
It never quite pans out that way from what ive heard. It may be fine for film tracks where you want to convay a sense of mouvement. say like a person crossing from one side of the room to the other.
But it has no real advantage in my opinion on a static source such as a guitarist.
You'de be better off trying a mid/side recording if you want a nice wide acoustic track in a sparse instrument mix with the vocals being as it should be the shining star.
Or even an x/y configuration has as much value if not more than binaural technique.
Just my two pence.

If you really want to try it make yourself a Jecklin disc. Never heard of it well google is your friend.
