I just mixed this yesterday, and I approached the drums a little differently than how i normally might do them, so I'm looking for any critique that people can offer on how they sound in this mix. Thanks!

The kit sounds good to my ears. The snare has a little bit of a overly compressed choke to it. It may not be comped at all but sounds like it.
I dig the raw quality.

The one guitar hard panned to the right gives me a lopsided feeling and makes it stand out a little much. I assume these are backing tracks. For me moving it to about 2 o'clock and let some efx bleed into the left might be worth a try.

Cool though.

Forgot to ask. How'd you do this? I'd like to emulate your sound a little bit for some things.

Very modern indie-like raw wet sound. Not bad at all for the music style.

2 Studio Project C1 overheads, spaced stereo; SM57s on the snare and toms; Shure Beta 52 on the kick; Oktava MK012 on the hi hat; and a Rode NTK for a room mic.

The majority of the mix comes from the room mic, which is EQd (I can't remember how) and compressed to hell, and a lot of the sound comes from the studio I play in (a refurbished second story of a barn). I also took a lot of the low and low mids out of the overheads, and did the opposite with the snare. The toms are also gated. And yes, the snare is pretty compressed, probably too much like you said. The hi hat mic is there mostly just to add to the stereo image, because it's loud enough as it is. (Also, the drums are totally just two loops.)

I'd be happy to answer any other questions if you want

Looping has saved my butt plenty of times. Thanks for the description of your setup. It must be the barn vibe that I'm hearing.
