I'm looking to record vocals, guitar, bass, and possibly drums if I can find a good drum machine. I used Pro Tracks before with Windows XP, but now have Vista. I am looking for something pretty basic, that is very user friendly that can be used with my pc. Please help.

Thanks,

BW

For software, check out Reaper and Audacity. I haven't used either with Vista, but they're still worth trying out. Reaper is free to try (and very good, in my opinion) and $50 for noncommerical use, and Audacity is always free. Last I checked, Audacity didn't support midi in a way that would let you trigger sampled drums, but that may have changed.

I'm not the best person to be responding, since I confine my audio adventures to the mac, for the most part, but you'd do well to check those out while waiting for more helpful posts from others here.
