I was interested in getting Sound Forge XP for .WAV editing but then I was thinking I might be able to find something on the internet for free in shareware. I dont have alot of time to learn a new program so I need something that is "no brainer" to use with some effects.

I have found:

Goldwave http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-2170-10107438.html?tag=lst-0-1

Wave Creator 2.1 http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-2170-8945981.html

Audacity 0.98 http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=audacity&tg=dl-2001

Easy Sound Edit Pro http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-2170-8945981.html?tag=lst-0-9

Any more you can add??

thanks

Well, you where asking for shareware. not specifically freeware.....

But there are some free full versions of soundprobe going around as it has been bundled with several magazines like PC-plus and PC-Format over the last few months. So you can try to get a hold of one of those magazines. If you are interested, I can dig up what issues it came with so you can back-order or something like that.

Always look at Computer Music magazine too... they give away great freeware on their monthly CDs. I believe they gave away a full working copy of Soundprobe last fall.

Audacity looks great if they can get it up to 24-bit version; it would be nice to have a freeware editor like that available across all platforms (it works in Windows, Mac, MacOSX and Linux already)

There's a very long list to try at http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/AUDIO_EDITORS/
