If you are interested in buying them new or used, I have an electronics distributor, here in Chicago, that will give you a great deal.

Im alsoin the market for some technics. What kind of a deal from this chicago cat?

Doesnt Matter, see I hear they are pretty safe to get used, so probably used. Really depends on price.

Well I'm looking for a friend who's looking, he lives in Massachusetts & if you don't mind email him the info: djtymes@aol.com

or I can send it to him.. up to you I was telling him about it today & he said he'd like to go with used unless its in really bad shape..

Used 12's are not a bad thing, indeed. :)

The only things that might break down or need changing are the lights, patchcords, or arms (which are all affordable... compared to the price of a new set of 12's).

I'll get back in touch with you all, in this thread , after the New Year.

Have a GREAT New Years Eve. :D

i got mine used. One was 4 years old and it's running ecaxtely as fine as the other one which was ½ a year old..

Give me a day or 2. I am tired as sh*t. ;)

I had about a million parties to do since Christmas.

peace...

Ok my uncle sold 3 of the 4 used TT that he had he only has 1 left (I think it is an MKIII D). The one with the pitch lock reset. :(

technics last for years and years, if you can find used, get em
I agree with you totally. ;)

I still have the original working set that I bought in 82' or 83' (down in my basement, somewhere).

Buying 1200's used is the way to go (until you generate) enough money to buy them new.

You can propably get 2 used for less that the price of one new. You can get 2 used 12's for $350.00. While, 1 new 12 will cost you $419.00 (and that is at cost).

The only things that you might have to replace are ...

Patchcords = $25.00

Light = $10.00

ON/OFF switch = $8.00

Tone Arm holder = $4.00

Tone Arm = $125.00

Even if the 1200's look weathered, you could pick up some covers for them (in whatever color you want).
