Q,

you *SHOULD* use the Behringer gear for blowing...

After all... if there is one thing Behringer excels at... it would be blowing :)

What also makes my Behringer rack look REALLY impressive
is when the lites are out and everything is turned on...green,red,blue & orange flashing L.E.D.'s!!!......... WOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!
Guaranteed to make the most ignorant of studio clients think your game is expensive, flashy & awesomely tite!!!!

Ah, the Hollywood theory... Have you ever watched "The Bourne Identity"? My buddy smuckinfart1 pointed this out to me when we watched it. When Julia Stiles is working on a phone tap, she has some Behringer equipment in her rack of "hacker and telephone tap" tools... Pretty funny... i think it was a Virtualizer or something...

What I dig about Behringer is the creative way they name all of their stuff...

Virtualizer Pro (what does THAT mean!?)
Multicom, Dynacom etc...

I've taken that to heart and started renaming stuff in my own studio...

My toilet is now the Duker Pro 2000... this baby packs a powerflush... now with digital interface too

The entry into the studio is the DynaDoor Pro XL... much better than the standard DynaDoor.

But nothing is better than my couch... the good old
Tube UltraLounge Quad Modulizer... All the tube warmth in a new four seater package.

Ahhh.. the list could go on and on

I hear what you are saying Q about the lights... I'm tempted to take a string of multi colored blinking Christmas lights and put them behind a vented rack plate... tell people its my suck eliminator. Then when the person recording is REALLY doing poorly, I can unplug the lights and tell them the stupid thing went on the fritz... and that I am sorry I will not be able to de-suck their project.

I have done live mixing gigs, even complete festivals with a rack not even half that big. I assume this is a live-rack, since there is an ultracurve in it?

For live use in small clubs this rack would be ok. Except for the behringer efx crap which is completely useless. The gates and compressors are workable in live situations, and most of the budgetPAs I mix on don't have 6 compressors and 8 gates, and mostly just one efx processor. (in some cases this is even a behringer. I hate that.)

For tomorrows mini festival at our youthclub, I have a rack in my car with an M-one, a D-two, an SPX990, BBS eq. But NO gates, and NO compressors. But it's workable, for main vocals I use my voice channel anyway, and that's got a compressor in it.

Worst rack I ever had was 2 compressors, 4 gates and a behringer efx processor. Oh, and a feedbackdestroyer which is quite handy. That was 12 bands in 10 hours. I don't like that.

Hey Q, why do you have a feedbackdestroyer in your studioow?

Thank you... thank you... I'll be here all week... don't forget to try the cheese logs and the soup of the day!

Velvet Elvis

Oh! Wow... Catching my breath... We should make a web site about your studio's devices such as your Tube UltraLounge Quad Modulizer. That'd be great!

Why has no one posted the (seemingly) inevitable picture of some woman's breasts yet!?

Mercenary Audio already has some like that :)

Ya know... Bruce (Blue Bear) started this whole thing about needing to get rid of the Behringer crap at the beginning of this thread... little do people know that the ACTUAL spelling of Blue Bear is "Blue Behr" which is because of his true love for Behringer gear...

My feeling is he's probably trying to talk Scott out of his Behringer gear because Bruce would like to purchase it for his new digs :)

Velvet Elvis
(running quickly away from Bear :))

I'd like to see that, you have a link?

Poor Blue Behr. **I mean** Bear :D

That's pretty funny, but nah nah nah... I'm talking like Studio Equipment, like your couch, your front door, your crapper... :D

That would be the Duker Pro 2000... get it right boy!

Its not for amateurs... bwahahahaha

I'm not sure... but I think it may have even been designed by Rupert Neve!

:)

Velvet Elvis

hahahahaha... yeah that's pretty good :)
