Longevity of mic brands?

I'm about to buy a lot of mics in the $150 to $400 range. Some dynamics, some
condensers, some shotguns.

There's many models that fit my performance and price specs - every manufacturer
seems to have at least one mic in each of my categories.

To narrow down the field a little, and because I keep my equipment a long time, I am
wondering about longevity, i.e., which brands tend to fall apart even though you've
treated them gently and stored them out of the rain?

A better question:
"How's their service department?"
EV is my favorite in this regard...you can send them a dead mic, and it's back in no time, no charge.
Shure is also good, as is Microtech Gefell.
