What do you think it´s the best? In Europe first comes Logic than Cubase and Cakewalk. Why do you think so many professionals choose Logic?

I dunno... I hate the layout of logic, or at least my 1st impression layout. I've never really used it enough to give my opinion, but I like Cubase better on 1st impressions. Maybe I'm a weirdo, but I like Sonar alot, even though its still getting put through its paces and is very young. I think if they take Sonar forward and make it all it can be over the next year or 2, that it will be untouchable. As of now though, it is still a little buggy, but it has great intentions.

i'd at least check out the SONAR demo before i bought anything.

more pros use logic cause no pros use cubase .

That's the thing about Logic - you have to get past that first impression to discover its power and potential. If it were all about first impressions and ease of jumping into the program I'd still be using Cool Edit Pro, which is the most approachable multitrack recording app I've ever seen.

If you're on Mac platform then Digital Performer kills both in MIDI and Audio. As for PC Logic then Cubase then ...... then..... the.... and then maybe Cakewalk.

"more pros use logic cause no pros use cubase . " Any particular reason for this? They are quite similar... aren´t they???

two reasons: logic interfaces with pro tools and there is nuendo.....though i know of no pros using nuendo...but there gots to be.....;)

And what about the Logic forum? Everybody wants it...

Huh?

I would head to the Nuendo forums. Plenty of pros using Nuendo.

Such as:
Engineer Greg Ladanyi applies NUENDO to Jackson Brownes upcoming 5.1 release

Kodiak Interactive, a high-quality, cutting edge entertainment software development house that creates games for such systems as Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation, and the Nintendo Gamecube, has installed two Steinberg Nuendo Media Production Systems at their Salt Lake City facility... ( My hometown  )

Marc Lynn, bass player and sound engineer of the rock band Gotthard recorded their new album 'Homerun', released at BMG records, with Nuendo.

Some Pros that use Cubase:

Paul Haslinger of Tangerine Dream
Paul Mirkovitch - Musical Director of Cher's backup band
Hans Zimmer - Scored The Prince of Egypt, The Lion King, Crimson Tide and many other blockbuster movies...
Phil Collins - ( No hairpiece, er..., intro required )

With the new UA Powered Plugin card I think you will see more disgrunteled PT people move to Nuendo for post and film work Native and DSP without the "name" pricetag.

:D

logic vs pro tools free?

Ok, I have been using Pro Tools free to record (there is just me and my guitar and my computer). I just bought the Delta 66 Omni Studio and it comes with Logic. Before I install this software, I want to know why I should switch over. What does Logic offer that PT Free doesn't? I think Logic offers 16 tracks instead of 8 but other than that???? Does it sound better? Is it more powerful? Should I change to Logic? Should I stick with PT Free?

Depends on the version of Logic. The Platinum version offers unlimited tracks (up to what your PC can handle, anyway) and 16 busses. I can't really compare to PTFree because it crashed on my machine every time I tried to run it, but here are some handy charts on emagic's website that shows all the Logic features by version.
