Ive recently re installed logic gold 4.81 after having not used it for a few months.Previously when selecting the input channel in the mixing windows there was just a list with input 1-16 (im useing an delta 66/omni studio) No its sorted into the input already selected, no input and then a sub menue with the 6 inputs to choose from. Also perviously the plug ins were in one long list now there sorted into verious types. How do i change this?

This is they way it should be. The choice of inputs is dependent on the hardware. Hence 6 input choices per track.

This is also the way it is supposed to be. The first category is the main effect and the subcategory is the effects related to the main category.
Didn't you recently upgrade from 4.7 ?
That is what would have changed it.

Thats not my point. My point was before i could click on the input and the a list pops up with the 6 inputs to choose from. No i have to go inputs>select the input. Its just a bit annoying.

I'll admit that its probably a better idea with the plug-ins so that doesnt bother me. I think i upgraded from 4.71 which also had it.

Is there no way to go back to the old way of changing inputs?

Im not sure I follow you on this...Im assuming you are referring to your mixer enviroment. Within each track is a box to select which input you want to recieve from for each track. In your case, you select a choice from 1-6. When you click on the box a drop down menu appears and you click and hold and scroll your mouse to the one you want. takes about 1 sec. to do this. Before I start a new song I go ahead and set these perimeters in advance as well as setting it as a stereo or mono track and which output to use. Its somewhat easier for me because I use an audiophile which is only 2 in and 2 out so my selection is limited. If this is really a pain for you and it happened after the upgrade, you can still use 4.7 v. its still there on your system unless you deleted it. 4.8 didn't add that much to begin with.
