Logic Pro Help! "Punching In" and hearing the previous take

So, most DAWs give you like a two measure lead in when you hit "record"

I record some vocals and stop halfway through a verse. I hit record to keep going, but I can't hear my previous vocal line during the lead in. Is there any way to switch that? Un-mute the track you're recording on?

Usually I just use two tracks and switch back and forth to avoid overlapping, then splice them together onto the same track later... this is a lot of work tho. If I'm working under time constraints this would be a wonderful tool.

Thanks HR.

Hi mate

Ensure that software monitoring is turned on in the audio preferences and auto input monitoring is turned on.
You can also set up a punch in region and then give yourself a two-bar count-in (all found in recording options)

audio punch recording (what a strange term - sounds like something a foley/sfx artist would do for a fight scene)
