Logic Platinum 5.5.1, M-Audio Delta 44, and M-Audio Radium 49

I am having "issues", here. I'm completely new to Logic, so I think I'm just comfused. VERY confused. I purchased a Big Box and tehrefore have the synth, too... but I have no idea how to ACCESS it, let alone how to access more than just the 23 instruments it shows me initially. Any help for the villiage idiot, please?

Add to that I was hoping I'd be able to adjust the sensitivity of the Radium 49 keys. Anyone? And beyond that, has anyone gotten the thing to work flawlessly in Windows XP?

And "one more thing". My computer will NOT recognized the Delta 44 card, period. Now computers, I am not new to. Just digital audio.

First of all, you're not going to get everything to work in Windows XP.
The connectivity is simple, in some cases you'll connect the keyboard to the box and the box to the comp. In other cases you'll connect them each separately to the comp. The setup instructions in the manual for the keyboard should tell you which to do in this case. I don't know if you can adjust the sensitivity of the keys, that should also be somewhere in the manual, if it isn't then you could ask customer support.
Accessing the rest of the sounds should be in the sequencer. In the arrangement view, on the left side bar. The right side of the bar lists the instruments in the arrangement, the lower left side displays the module and sample in use for that track. I haven't used Logic in a while, so I'm not sure if you right or left click on the drop menu tab, but when you do it displays a list of the modules available and extended menus for each, to select the sample you want.
There are probably other ways to do it, but this is how I've managed. Also most midi equipment comes with its own software to choose which samples the computer can access and on what channels.
Most of the information should be in Logic's help or online help sections.

Logic & Delta cards are completely compatible with XP.
The keyboard settings I cant help you with, but as for Logic, double click the instrument of choice in the arrange window. In the mixer window for that specific instrument there are 3 rectangular slots greyed out. Cick & hold the top one and select the EXS24, ES1, ES2, etc... This will open that instruments window interface. Then you will need to select the sample you want thru the instrument flip down...once again click and hold and drag to the inst. of choice. You will need to use your keyboard to trigger these samples via midi. (or step entry using mouse and matrix) /////if you hav'nt figured this out yet, you've gotta a lot to learn and the best way will be using the manual and hands on///////

But before any of that takes place you gotta have a midi interface and the 44 does not have it. If you still have your stock card or onboard midi connect on your PC...use it.

As far as your 44 card, you may need to uninstall with the Delta uninstaller....reboot and try again.

Compatability shouldn't be an issue, everything is compatible with Windows XP, my comment on that was directed at the murphy factor. Where there is Microsoft, there are bugs, runtime errors, system failures, and eventually the blue screen of death (at least in my experience). So whatever the case, don't count on it working seemlessly.

Stealthtech is right about the Delta 44 not having MIDI, I assume you're using it as an additional interface... if not, you're going to need one.

Do you have any other soundcards installed besides the Delta??

I went through this with my new Delta just today.
I'm only using 98se but I tried to keep my Audiowerk2 card in and then install the Delta.

No go.......blue sceen of death......which does happen a lot with hardware in windows in my experience.

As soon as I removed the Audiowerk card (physically removed......de-installing the drivers did not help) the Delta instantly loaded correctly and works like a charm.

Is the card seated ALL THE WAY down in the PCI slot????
That can be a wall banger too.
