...Okay, so I'm setting up DAW for my friend who have HS2002 for months without even know how to use it :(

P4 1.8 A
Asus mobo
256 DDRAM
single 40GB 7200

He got WinXP Pro, and SB Live! card (...then what ? everybody had one once, eh ? :D ), but he wanted to use Livesynth Pro demo to render soundfonts to audio rather faster than record 'em.

When we attached GoldDrums to bank 0, everything is running fine, but one thing... The snare (C#, D, and D#) third octave on the keyboard sounds very strange. Whenever I hit them in the keyboard controller (or playback), I hear the long thundering rain storm on the tail about 6~8 seconds. Pretty annoying, eh ? However, it's okay if I attach the soundfont with the Live! card in "regular" way. So the sf file it's not damage in any means.

Do you guys ever know this problem ? How to solve this $#!t ?

I don't know, may be bad soundcard driver or sumthin'. I know how to deal with almost every MIDI thingee in SONAR, but I'm not sure about HS2002 (yeah, the same thing, but I didn't know if they have different issues).

Thanks !!!
;)
Jaymz

...please consider Pre-ordering Homerecording.Comp CD's Vol 2 :)

You are sure that LSP doesen't select a different patch (ie one of the shift-up patches). Try to actually set the patch and instrument in the MIDI-track... ;)

Spamming for the HR.Comp CD should be forbidden by law. Please do not support it because of James' spamming... :D

I'm not talking Blue Jay here.... It's GoldDrums, and it has only one patch :p But yes, I'm sure I set everything in the MIDI track (Track View)...

Oh! GoldDrums! Ahhh... That's strange. I have had problems with GoldDrums during the past few soundcards... ;)

SB Live: It was playing OK, but the soundcard screwed up all my recordings.

SB Audigy: The snare was panned to left whatever I did. I even tried to change the soundcard but the new Audigy did the same thing.

Inca88 and LSP: All systems are up and working! :)

Boycott the HR.Comp CD! Spammers should burn! :D

Sorry, James. I hate spammers. I get about 20 spam-emails a day...

It's so strange...

I never encounter this back home. GoldDrums with SB Live! and SONAR. I even tried this and that with LSP, nothing appeared as big issue to me (except sometime altering the tune on some sf I already posted back while...)... :(

Just strange...

Pedullist, how does it go on your setup ?

A long thundering rain storm huh? In my ears that sounds like the GM gunshot 3 octaves lower than it should be...

My setup is going fine...will order the Terratec in a minute. :D

Thats it... it sounds similiar... low grumble... :) So you've heard it too... :) How did you solve it (beside..."Get Blue Jay, will ya?" ) :D

Perfect pick on the soundcard... I'll go Terratec to replace the old broken Delta very soon... :)

Did I Mention VSampler Yet?

Jaymz, I had a similar problem with GoldDrums & VSampler3 in one of its early incarnations. I was getting wierd bouncing and repeats. Particular instruments would bounce from left channel to right channel - but they would play at differing tempos. Really wierd :)

They seem to have fixed it with VS3 RC4...

Although GoldDrums is highly regarded so far as SoundFonts go, it doesn't compare to my Giga Big Fish Audio Ross Clemente Kit and VR Drums Giga Funk Kit.

Roll on that upgrade. Man, I'm champing at the bit now :D

I knew it :D And I was thinking i'ts wasting time using VS when I have SBLive! & Livesynth Pro :o Looks like I probably was wrong :o I'm already home and I can't use my Livesynth Pro anymore but 1 meg sf's only (mine is expired). I'll give it a shoot whenever I have a chance in friends DAW :)

Hey James! You might want to listen to your own advice and mess with the MIDI buffers. ;) I'm sure you did that already. Have you tried any other sf's? It really sucks when the guy who answers all your soundfont questions has a question about soundfonts! :D

...That's what teachers are for. To ask questions when they have already teached us... :D :D :D

...anyway, it was not my question... it was my friends DAW... :D :D :D
