So here is the problem... I share a room with my brother he sits about 3-4 feet away from me side by side. He can be really noisy sometimes, like he will scream extremely loud when he is playing games every so often. I don't want my viewers to deal with hearing someone who has nothing to do with the stream, and to top it off damage their ears because of this loud mofo. I would prefer a mic that sits on my head or clips on my shirt. I would rather not have something like a shure m58 in my face. If a mic can't do the job then I guess my only choice would be sound booth and that's really expensive, but luckily some companies offer financing. Any helpful suggestions and responses are greatly appreciated!

BTW
my computer has a sound blaster zxr so I can plug in mics that output through 1/4 plug

Hi,
Not the answer you want to hear but the only proper solution is to play at different times to your brother, or persuade him to be quiet.
If you can hear him then so can that mic - that's the rule to remember.
A headset mic will help to reduce it to some extent but it will never 100% do the job.
I think it's probably the best you'll get, though.

A 'sound booth' isn't an going to be an option because to actually soundproof or come close you'd need massive amounts of absorption and decoupling.
Again, if you can hear him so can the mic so sheets, foam etc are pretty much useless.

I think the best you can really do is get a gaming headset and ask him to be quiet.

If that doesn't work out then maybe have a compressor or limiter on your output might at least take the edge off.
What software do you use?
