Whyte Ice

The Next Vanilla Ice
I haven't played live before but I plan onto in the very near future.

I was wondering what kind of equipment/setup I need to be able to play live? Like power amps, speakers, P.a. system, mics, monitors?

What kind of stuff do you bring with you when you play live?

my set up is : sansAmp to Behringer noisegate to Tc G-Force to Meesa Boogie 2:90
this works great for club gigs, on bigger gigs I'm going through the pa system, using sm 57's

That's a wide open question. What sort of places will you be playing - Coffee houses or stadiums? What is the composition of your band - one man and sequencers or symphony orchestra?
What style of music - big band swing or rave techno?

Its a four piece band consisting of 2 guitarists (one will sing too), Bass, and a drummer.

We plan on playing club gigs, nothing huge like stadiums.

The style of music we play is alternative/rock.

You will need a P.A. system for vocals (and maybe to mic up some instruments). I would suggest not less than 300 watts for a room that can hold 100 people.
Check out the Carvin website if you're thinking about buying - they're stuff is really good value for money - but if you're just starting out and don't have a lot of gigs, you may want to rent (but that can get real expensive).
For the guitar players they will each need an electric guitar (or a miced or pickupped (is that a real word?) acoustic guitar and a guitar amplifier. The minimum wattage for a 'rock' gig for each amplifier would be thirty-five or so. Depending on the types of sound you want to produce, you may want to include some Effects pedals - most common FX are distortion, echo, chorus/flange and wah wah.
It's really difficult to offer any really specific advise without knowing a little more about your band and your sonic goals.
