Hello,

Need some general help with setting up a live recording mobile operation.

Question: Can i purchase a Presonus Firestudio 26x26 & daisy chain into a Presonus Digimax d8 and then daisy chain again into another digimax d8?

Any other helpful ideas such as:

What sort of looms to use and how long loom is so ive got enough length and fan out to mixing board directs?
Capatibility with macbook pro laptop
Recording up to 24 channels in a live band mixing situation

I'm new at this so any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, yes you could do that... But why?

Just get three firestudios... And hook them together it'll be a lot easier... A LOT EASIER... Then take the TRS on the board and plug them into the firestudios... That'll make it so you can record each individual track; in a setup that'll fit into a small rack case so it's easy to move and setup...

Plus with that setup you can place the computer just off the stage because the Firestuido has a built in mixer GUI that will allow you (if you don't trust your sound guy) to mix it while you play...

It's a retard proof setup and just about anyone can use it with very little knowledge and get a good sounding recording....

Don't buy more then one FS!!!!!

The Firestudio's aren't really designed to work together. If you get the Firestudio and then two Digimax FS you can run 24 tracks from that. The two Digimax's hook to the Firestudio via ADAT lightpipe and the Firestudio acts as the master clock.

I have a Firestudio 2626 with one Digimax FS, because I record at 96kHz so I can only hook up the one additional Digimax.
