In the swamps of Jersey
I got a call from a theatre I work with to mic, mix and record this show. It was an interesting to say the least. What I enjoyed most about the gig is I was working with instruments I don't get much of a chance to record. The group is a classical Indian orchestra. Orchestra sounds big but it was only 4 people. Mridangam (drum) wood flutes, violin and vocal. The vocalist is rather famous in India. I don't remember his name but I do know he worked on one of the George Harrison albums. The group played with a Indian dancer. It was a beautiful show. Anyway give it a listen and let me know what you think. It was recorded direct to disc from the Mackie board. It's only a 1 minute clip taken from a 3 hour show. I think I had my fill of Indian music for some time.
