Hi there. I don't think this question fits here but please someone let me know...

I'm wondering if it's true that in a LIVE SHOW with multiple bands performing, u do the sound check in the reverse order? such as last band do the sound check first. and First performing band does the sound check at the last so that they can keep their settings and start the show.

I see a lot of venues only doing preshow sound checks for the first band and then everyother band gets 1 minute to test the levels when they set up as "usually" for club performances the settings will be practically the same.

most of the time for my old band it was -
soundguy: "play"
us: "ok"
play a few seconds
us: "less bass in monitors! how's sound out there?"
soundguy: "play again"
us : "right"
plays a few seconds
soundguy: "ok you're good to go"
us: "ok more monitors too"
starts performance


During longer shows the headliner wont even be there until halfway through the event.

That's pretty common but it just depends on the venue.
 
That's how it's been done at gig's I've played with multiple bands.
