Let's start by explaining my setup and what I would like to do with the Saffire Pro 40. I will be using the Saffire Pro 40 in live situations, I would like to run my guitar, synth and VST instruments through my laptop to perform live loopings on Albeton Live. I'm running a late 2012 Macbook Air, with 2ghz Intel Core i7/8gb 1600mhz DDR3/500gb Flash storage.
I also have external effects, delay & reverb I would like to connect to the Saffire. My question is if its possible to route my I/Os to have my external hardware effects to affect all my instruments before reaching my DAW. I have read this on the Focusrite website, How do I set up and use an external effects processor as an insert when tracking? .: Focusrite Answerbase.
Am I able to create separate mixes for each of my instruments on MixControl, then have the mixes translate as an output source to Ableton Live for me to control as individual looping tracks!? Obviously I will be controlling and monitoring all the looping tracks simultaneously,so will latency be an issue here? I have attached a setup diagram for you to understand better what I'm trying to accomplish.
Also are there any other audio interfaces you would recommend that has similar I/Os features as the Saffire Pro 40, around the $500 price range of course! I'm looking for something solid with stable drivers that works with my machine.
Looking forward to your answers! Thanks!
