Hi, I'm going to be miking a drum kit for a carol service on sunday. I'm miking the snare, kick, toms and I have 2 OH mics. Question is, should I mic the hi-hat with 1 of them and have the other to capture the cymbals or should I just use both as overheads?

What do you think?

Were I doing this, I would aim for simplicity: kick, snare and two overheads. I wouldn't worry about hi-hat or toms. The snare mike usually picks up a workable level of hi-hat, and the overheads do the toms just fine. The fewer mikes you have open, the fewer problems you have with feedback and assorted problems.
