I am playing a Yamaha f series acoustic with a fishman matrix system (natural 1) built in, through a LR Baggs Para acoustic DI, a FMR RNC compressor, and an alesis miniverb .....

I am currently running through the house pa.........(local venues), but am thinking about getting the SWR California Blonde Acousti amp....

Is this worth it? What are the benefits of going through the amp as opposed to direct through the pa....?

Control!

Basically that's it. You can control what the sound will be like. You can hear yourself, you can do a little tweaking, and you can still plug in directly to the PA from the amp. Or, you toss an SM57 on the amp and do it that way. Or both...

One weird piece of experience- I prefer the Strawberry Blonde. It has no XLR in, but every acoustic amp I've tried that was trying to be a PA did not sound as good. I use a Taylor 710CE with a Fishman Prefix Plus into a Strawberry Blonde. I was interested in the California Blonde for its XLR in, but both of the units I auditioned did not sound as good as the Srawberry Blonde, which rocks!-Richie
