Been a long time since we heard from you, Wig...
This song is beautiful and well-textured as is usual with your work. Love your voice and the melody and the lyrics. I find the recording beautifully clear and balanced. Is Ron Caruana of Maltese descent? Caruana is a very common name in Malta......

Once again, well done!

Joe :):):):)

Wig - lovely song - I can hear some Cat but much more Ian - then again I'm a fan of the latter rather than the former.
The flute solo works a treat but the piano seems a little jumpy to be so up front. I'd rather the mix have the guitar as up front as it was at the very beginning - can you pull it up on it's side OR pull the piano back?
The rim shot's a little loud for me.
Lovely song & delivery.

What a nice mix of sounds. Has a really good sound. The piano and the flute stuff is nicely done. The vox are very appropriate.

Another excellent bit of writing form you. Rimshot drums can be jarring, as per Ray's observation. I think it's just on the edge so I'd say take it down a db. I like the spread on the piano/guitar/flute, and I like the balance in that regard. Super clean mix overall - very nice Wig...

Awesome! Sparkling, like a cool gin & tonic on a warm summer afternoon.;)

Really smooth delivery. Love the piano, the acoustic and the vocals. Some of the more unexpected turns in the melody are really pleasant as well. Oh so mellow, but still very engaging...not an easy feat I think.:D

Beautiful, brother. Yes, sometimes I feel the timing issue, but the song and the performance is excellent, as you have us accustomed. Good work.

Thanks Joey,

Glad you like the tune. Always nice to get the kind words and support that you reflect on my work. I don't know about Ron's roots. He's a founding member of the Korg forum known as StudioTrax. Great place to hang BTW. Worth checking out, they'd love your stuff.

Thanks Ray,

I'll look into bringing the guitar up a bit and taming the piano. I'm struggling with the drums and it has been said that the side stick is too dry and some say ditch the kit entirely. But you're right that the git needs to be more prominent as it's a singer/songwriter genre.

Thanks Bigbubba,

Glad you like the mix and the vocals.

Thanks ido,

Yeah, I'm gonna revisit that rimshot or side stick issue. I did the drums manually on my synth and it kind of shows. They may go bye bye eventually.

Thanks Heatmiser,

I'm really glad you can appreciate the composition. I always feel that I am first a writer, then a recording artist, and of course, lastly an engineer.

Thanks Marcadiablo,

Yeah the timing is a bit tricky as with a lot of 3/4 stuff that I write.
I'm very glad that you like the song and the performance. BTW I haven't forgotten Hasta Que

Wig:)
