Thanx Prop. I hate the fact that I sound like Weird Al sometimes.

No way. I was totally gona say that, and then I thought about how I'd feel if someone said it to me! :p

Come to think of it, I might actually have told you that before anyway.

You might have. Someone has.

Do you hear that in general, or is it when I go up, or down,etc....?

I need to fix that..

I need to fix that..

Lol. I don't think you do. It's not like OMG, it's more like a subtle hint thing.

For me, weird al's voice always stood out because it's so pure and the performance is always so tidy; He sounds autotuned, naturally.

In the best possible way, I think you do to.

I still need to fix that. LOL. :D

I used to always be told I sing like Jagger, probably from all the years of playing in cover bands and singing so much Stones. But I don't get that much any more. If I had the choice of who I'd like to sound like between those 2, I think I'd take Jagger. But, ideally none of us really wants to sound like anyone.

Hmmm, maybe you can work it the other way?
Just ham it up so much that when people hear Weird Al, they think "ooh wow, that sounds like RAMI"

Ok, I'll go now. :(

Your voice sounds fine the way it is! You don't need to 'fix' what's so far from broken!
(I also agree with the natural auto-tune statement. He [and you] sings every note as straight as railroad tracks!)

I never thought of that, but it helps a lot. I think I'm so concerned with singing on key that I might be sacrificing any kind of "style" and even imperfection that would not sound so rigid. I was never told that in all the years of singing live, so I think I just get to obsessed with pitch when I'm recording.

I know you say don't worry about it, and I appreciate it. But as soon as anyone thinks "Weird Al", as opposed to ANY other singer in the world, I think that might put a damper on takig a song seriously. :D

Sounds great i hope to be that talented someday.
I'm curious though what did you do that was differant to the vocals this time?
reverse and compress? rereverse and compress more?

Rami, I was having a bit of banter there and what not, but seriously man, If I could sing half as well as you I'd be very chuffed. :)

Thanx dude. I think I'm lucky to have talent on the drums and just sufficient talent on everything else.

Reverse and compress twice? Never heard of that, but that sounds pretty funky. Maybe my next experiment.

No, what I did was put 2 compressors in series. The first one had no attack, 3:1 ratio and gave me about 4-6db of reduction. The second one had an attack of 3 ms, 2.5:1 ratio, and release of 100ms and I also went for about 4-6db of reduction. I never used 2 compressors before on one instrument. I find it really worked better than just pushing one hard. I know this is probably nothing new to a lot of people, just something I never tried.

NOTHING about your voice makes me not take this song seriously! I love this song, you have a great voice and you don't need to be so self-conscious! Weird Al (which you don't some exactly like) would be taken seriously too if he wrote non-comedic songs! Your pitch is great, your voice is awesome, your writing is fantastic, the instrumentation is played to perfection so DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING!!! DAMN IT!

That is not enough to say about this, the vocals, the drums, the production... This is the shit that other shit should be measured against... "Really..."

love the drums here....nice kick and bass separation.....my only issue is with the over driven rhythm guitars.....there's a fizzy sound in there......sounds like it should be notched out with EQ. Other than that, love it!

Love the song, especially the vocals! you have such a good voice :D perhaps though I agree with steenamaroo that the snare and kick are a bit overpowering but other than that its great!

Yeah, you're right. I got to go back and tweak the guitars. Thanx a lot.

Thanx ollie. I think I agree about the drums. I'll bring them down a notch when I re-mix this.

Thanx a lot everyone.

Hah I caught a little bit of the bass riff from "Stairway to Heaven" on one of the transitions in the song. Really catchy, agree with the drums, very punchy and thump with a snappy snare to contrast with. I'm sure you've probably been asked this before, but what drums are you using? Sounds to me like a Tama or a Grestch variant.

You've got some nice songs can't wait to hear more.
