Linking up guitar amp to soundcard

Hi,i have a Mesa Boogie DC-5 which has the usual send return etc on the back panel but also a 'recording' output.My soundcard is Yamaha sw1000xg,can i run a cable from this 'recording 'output of the amp straight to the 'line in' of my soundcard?I'm taking for granted this output will be at a fairly low level to send to some kind of recording equipment.I usually mic the amp with a Shure SM58 but i just wanted to try another way,any help appreciated,thanks!

You might try recording one track via the line in at the same time as you record and another through the mic. Then you can blend the sounds in the mix.
