Trying to link my edirol FA 101 to the digidesign 002 into pro tools LE.

will it work?
dont think so.. check out digi's site, im pretty sure you can only have one soundcard into it. the digi is technically an external soundcard. i am not familiar with the edirol, but if you are looking to utilize the imputs, you can use them and use the main outputs into the digi's line imputs/auxilary.

Nope, won't work. Protools works with digi hardware only, and only one piece of digi h/w at a time at that (with the exception of possibly M-powered and M-audio interfaces)

nope, it won't work and I'll tell you why.

For connecting additional pre's to the 002, you'd need an optical ADAT (lightpipe) interface. And not a stand alone interface (like the 002)

the 002 gives you the option of 4 pres, 4 balanced TRS and 8 channels of optical ADAT.

The edirol dosn't have that connection because it was designed as a stand alone interface. It's like a cheaper version of the 002. And if there's anything I know about these audio interfaces, is that they don't play ball with each other.

So if you are hell bent on connecting additional pres to the 002, then you need a preamp/mixer strictly with no more than 4 TRS outs and/or a lightpipe (optical adat) compatible devise.

Presonus makes a devise that connects with the 002. I think it's called the Presonus lightpipe I/O or some bullshit like that.

runs you something like 600-800 clams.
