There is a lack of progression through out the song. I listened for a minute, then skipped ahead 3 or 4 times to try see where the song goes, but it essentially stays the same all the way through.

On the mix side, it seems to be lacking a grounding. As hip-hop normally goes, there is a thick texture that generally grabs your attention, as its pretty in your face. Everything besides your voice seems so passive, that it tends to leave the listener with the feeling of a total lack of energy. Rap is high energy. Even when the song is sad or slow, there is still a lot of energy coming through in the song. However, that is down to the performance of the rapper, the mixing and a small degree, the composition of the rest of the song.

The percussion seems especially weak in this song for hip-hop.
