I have a Line6 PODxt Live, and bought it with the intent of eventually getting a Variax (the sitar patch alone is pretty sweet--although I could just get a sitar). Anyone out there who has one? Is it worth it? Any thoughts?
Never used a PODxt, however I've played on a Variax Acoustic and was basically blown away. I'm an audiophile, and love clean, authentic sounds, so that means something!
I'll repeat a post I just made in the Line 6 forum:
I've finally taken the full plunge. I've been a Pod user for several years. Last year I got the XT Live, then the Variax 300, a combo I use every week at church and at occassional gigs. In the last few week's I've sold my American Strat, Crate tube amp, Epi Dot and a cheapo Samick 12-string and purchased a new 700 Acoustic. Man, I LOVE this stuff. I have to echo the comments of many here - having so much flexibility has opened up new avenues. I've been a guitar player for more than 25 years, (I'm an old guy, 42) but this stuff makes me feel like a 16-year-old again.
Sorry for my shameless enthusiasm... I just had to share. Thanks Line 6 for helping reawaken my love for guitar and for creating music.
