I think what i want to do can be achieved with a line selecter:

I want to have a switchable chain, with delay and reverb, to engage for solos and whatnot. My amp has an effects loop, non switchable, and its series (whats the use in one of those?)

I was thinking of having a boss ls-2, with a reverb and delay in its loop, and hopefully using the level controlls i can get a volume boost at the same time?

Yeah, I guess if you want to keep it in the amps FX loop, you'll have to have an A/B switch back there. Otherwise you could just run your FX into the front end.

Don't really see what you're getting at? Don't/wont be using my amps fx loop as its serial and has no footswitch option.

Sorry, I guess I didn't understand the question.

You can buy an effects loop switcher that allows you to keep all your effects on, and assign them in varying combinations to a different switches. That way, for one song or section of a song one switch could activate a chorus and a delay (for example), another switch could activate an overdrive and a phaser, and another could activate the chorus and overdrive, etc.

Is that what you're looking for?

...and if you do want to run your effects in your amp's FX loop, I think you could use an AB-Y box to create a parallel path.
