sorry this is a stupid question, i know (hey im just a little kid)

i just got a tascam porta02, and have been connecting the LINE OUT of my Marshall amp directly to the mic inputs. it seems to have great quality this way and to work fine, but ive been getting the impression that this does'nt work well, and that you need a direct box or some crap like that.... is it really worth it? should i just get a good mic and mic the guitar amps from now on?

USING YOUR RECORDING OUTPUTS FROM YOUR MARSHALL TO YOUR CHANNEL INPUTS IS FINE.
IF YOUR SATISFIED WITH THE SOUND YOUR GETTING AND HAVING NO LINE NOISE WHY CHANGE YOUR SETUP.TRY MICING YOUR AMP ALSO YOU MIGHT LIKE THAT SOUND TOO. TRY THEM BOTH TOGATHER. DONT BE AFRAID TO BE CREATIVE.
