Hi, does any one know of a stereo microphone that will work into a line level input on a portable minidisk, or a cassette recorder that do not have mic inputs, only line inputs? I want to record live electric bands playing on stage. A line level mic is what I need. I live in the UK, so some of the stuff you use might not be available over here.

It might just be terminology, but no mic puts out a line level signal unless the signal is passed through a preamp which boosts the signal to line level. Now, a preamp might be built into the microphone housing to do this, and perhaps that is what you are looking for. I've never heard of one, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are products out there that do this. Alternatively, using two products, a mic and separate preamp, will get you a line level signal. You'll need to make sure the cabling is correct.

thats the pro 24
its a stereo microphone
the connector is a 3.5 mm stereo plug
the connector on your recorder is either this or larger, and you can buy an adapter for it to fit correctly

what you refer to a mic input can be taken differently
mic inputs range from xlr plugs to 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch mini stereo, and this particular mic is mini stereo. many mics use this, you just need to look around, but audio technica does make some great microphones so i would definately check that out

This is what I am looking for, I thought some one might make one. I have not seen a cassette deck with a mic input on it for a long time, in the UK.
