Lizard People
Picked one up yesterday for the studio.

25 sounds, 8-10 of them very useful. Strumming the Acoustic sounds is a little to piezo for me, but if you pick carefully, the models are very good. All in all a fantastic value for 500 bucks. I'll use it just for color, I've got some nice guitars - but no 12 strings or resonators etc.

I'm very impressed.

I was looking into this myself. What's with the power supply cable thing they talk about? It doesn't seem to be on their other guitars. Can you shed some light for me?

just a box. 1/4" in one side, 1/4" out the other, with a wall wart.

Variax Power Supply

The power supply dongle requires the 10 foot TRS cable suplied wth the guitar (basically a 1/4 inch stereo cable with one shielded end that carries current to the Variax electronics) and frees you from powering the Variax with batteries.

I have a PODxt live so I never bothered to mess with batteries or the dongle as the PODxt Live powers the Variax thru the digital cable. (the digital cable is extra cost, but battery expense will offset the $39 price pretty quickly) The digital PODxt Live connection also allows you to take advantagof the FREE downloadable Variax Workbench software. Look in the Support - Downloads section of www.Line6.com and you can get it there as a free download. And Workbench is very cool.
