Line 6 Toneport mic pres

I'm looking for a stereo mic pre to use in conjunction with my Digi 001 which already has two mic pres. My hope was that I could record a drumset with a total of 4 mic pres in Protools. I was also looking to get a PODXT for guitar and it looked like the toneport might be a way to get both of these things since I have a very limited budget. Could the Line 6 UX2 be used with my AKG C1000s for stereo overhead drum micing that sounds decent? Do the preamp models sound good for recording sources other than vocals? Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Ive had no complaints with the results from the toneport...I use mine with a SP C1, AKG c414, and a pair of Mxl 603s...but AKG c1000...I dont know Ive never took that plunge...too many bad reviews on this board of those mics
