I might be missing something here, but, does it matter what kind of sound card I have if i plug my Line 6 podxt live in to my computer using a USB cable? I open up Cakewalk and record, but it just sounds terrible. Any help?

I use mine with a 1/4 cable into a Delta 44 soundcard. Do you have any other option besides the usb? If not, what is the In that Cakewalk recognizes? The In from your soundcard? Can you select a USB in?

I'm probably not much help, as my setup is different. :o

There's not really any more options. I have the sound card that came with the pc. In cakewalk, it just has input selections, and the pod is one of them. I guess it recognizes it as a stand alone input. I have no clue really. I was just curious if a sound card would make a big difference in recording since i'm going through the USB port instead of the sound card.

I'm completely new to this if you can't tell.

Not on the input part. However, the outputs might be so bad that you don't actually hear what's going on inside very truely.

So I'm gonna guess, if it is an output problem, i will need a new sound card... that's not fun.
